CLINTON, N.Y. -- A campaign to bring attention to disorders that affect 11 million Americans has got students at Hamilton College talking.

More than 3,000 Post-It notes with positive messages were stuck around campus as part of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week. Students Galia Slayen and Perry Ryan planned events and displays to bring attention to the disorders.

Forty percent of new anorexia cases in 2010 were made up of women between the ages of 15 and 19 and the organizers say want to let classmates in need of help know they're not alone.

"If we're able to help just one person this week, if one person can go get help from doing all this advocacy, all this attention, if one friend will talk to one of their friends who has an issue, then it's all worth it," said Slayen.

Displays also included a life-sized Barbie to show what the doll's exaggerated proportions set an unrealistic ideal for young girls. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
