State Police searching for owner of dog found on the side of highway

DELAWARE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Police in Delaware County are looking for the owner of a large dog after it was found on the side of the road with its food and water dishes.

The dark brindle male mastiff was left along State Route 28 in the Town of Franklin on Friday. The dog is being cared for at the Delaware Valley Humane Society in Sidney and is said to be in good condition.

State Police are investigating and anyone with information is asked to give them a call at (607) 561-7400.
