Several people took time out of their Christmas Eve to hold a vigil in front of the West Webster fire house for the victims of the shooting. YNN’s Sheba Clarke has more.
WEBSTER, N.Y. -- Several people in Webster spent their Christmas Eve at a vigil in front of the West Webster fire house, remembering the victims of Monday's shooting.
Throughout the night, everyone from loved ones to complete strangers stopped by to pay their respects, many dropping off candles and flowers.
We talked with two Town of Webster employees who knew Mike Chiapperini, one of the firefighters killed in the shooting.
"My heat hurts. And we also are colleagues of Mike Chiapperini. We laughed together, we cried together. We're gonna miss him," Clare Guadhenino said.
At one point, an official from the fire department spoke to the crowd, thanking them for their support.
