ILION, N.Y. -- The gun legislation vote has major implications for the Herkimer County village of Ilion, which relies on Remington Arms as a major economic engine. In fact, dozens of people filled the town hall Monday to rally for Remington.

The union representing workers says they're concerned jobs may be lost with any weapons bans. However when asked about Remington, the governor said he thinks it’s an issue the company will have to deal with regardless.

"I think if the companies are worried about future sales of assault weapons, they're gonna have to worry about a lot of other things besides the State of New York and the State of New York's market," Governor Andrew Cuomo said.

The United Mine Workers of America sent letters to every Assemblyperson and Senator in Albany asking them to think about the jobs before voting on any legislation. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
