No injuries after Oneida standoff ends

ONEIDA, N.Y. -- A standoff in Oneida ended Friday morning after eight hours.

Police were called to a home on Williams Street around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. A man inside the home was reportedly intoxicated and upset, and was threatening to hurt himself.

The man inside the home had access to weapons, and after several attempts to communicate with him, an emergency response team entered the home. He was taken into custody, and nobody was injured.

The man's identity is unknown, but he was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
